South Shore artists, music students create video blending art forms

A natural synergy exists between art and music. Splashes of color and content mixed with the sound of music and meter provide a rich texture of beauty that is hard find elsewhere in this busy workaday world. The fusion of the two often adds elegance and purpose to the drudgery of everyday life.

The South Shore Youth Conservatory Orchestra and Inky Hands Print Studio and Gallery in Plymouth sought to bring some of that splendor to people. The two worked together to combine art and music into a video of hues and sound to soothe the soul.

Sound check: Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti venues and artists eagerly anticipate return of live music

YPSILANTI, MI – When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down live music at his Ziggy Stardust-themed bar Ziggy’s, David Jeffries knew he would need to take a page out of his hero David Bowie’s playbook and reinvent the downtown Ypsilanti space that had become a haven for local and underground music and comic book culture since opening in 2016.
